Terms of Use
These terms cover the RLQuest app and this website. Your contract is with Nine to Zero UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Malzer Chaussee 173, 16515 Oranienburg, Germany, registered at Amtsgericht Neuruppin under HRB 14982 NP. Full company details are in the imprint.

What RLQuest is
RLQuest gives you quests that happen outdoors: find a place, take a photo, walk a route. The map fills in with the ground you actually covered.
It is a game, not an advisor. RLQuest is not a fitness, health or navigation service. The quests are not training advice, the map is not a hiking map, and the step counts are not medical measurements.
Out there — please read this part
This is the most important section on this page, and it is not boilerplate.
You decide whether a quest is safe right now — the app cannot. RLQuest does not know the weather outside your door at this moment, the traffic, the state of a path, or how you are feeling. A quest is a suggestion. Skipping one costs you nothing, and when in doubt that is the right call.
- Don't look at your phone while walking or driving. Nothing in this app is urgent.
- Stay off private property and out of restricted areas. If a place would only be reachable over a fence, it isn't the place we meant.
- Follow traffic rules, property rights and nature protection — even when that makes a quest impossible.
- A night quest is not an instruction to go out alone. Go where you would go at night anyway, and no further.
- In storms, ice or darkness, your judgement wins, not the daily plan.
We are not liable for harm arising because you carried out a quest in conditions where it was not safe. What we do owe is set out under Liability.
Your account
RLQuest needs an account. Keeping your credentials to yourself is your responsibility.
Minimum age: 13. If you are under 16, you need a parent's or guardian's consent. Sign up with accurate details — your year of birth decides which quests you are given.
Premium
RLQuest is fully usable for free. Premium is an optional subscription with a term of one month or one year.
- The price is the one the App Store or Google Play shows you before you buy, in your currency, including tax.
- It renews automatically for the same term unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You cancel in the store, not with us: on Apple under Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions, on Google under Play Store → Profile → Payments and subscriptions. We cannot cancel it for you — we can only see it.
- After cancelling, Premium stays active until the paid period ends. Nothing you have paid for gets cut short.
- A free trial is offered from time to time. Its length is shown in the store before you buy. Cancel during the trial and you pay nothing. Any unused part of a trial is forfeited once a subscription begins.
- Payment runs through Apple or Google, not through us. We never see your payment details. Refunds follow the rules of the store you bought from.
If Premium permanently loses features with nothing comparable in their place, you may cancel with immediate effect and get the remainder of the paid period refunded.
Right of withdrawal
Consumers in the EU have a 14-day right of withdrawal. Because Premium is available the moment you buy it, buying it means asking us to start straight away — and acknowledging that the right of withdrawal ends once the service has been supplied in full. Until then it stands. Withdrawal goes through the store you bought from; Apple and Google handle refunds themselves.
Your content
What you write and upload in RLQuest — your own quests, notes, photos — stays yours. You give us only the rights the app needs to work: to store your content and show it back to you, and to show quests you wrote to the people you share them with.
Photos submitted for verification are not stored. A photo is passed to a model for checking and discarded afterwards; only the result is kept with your account. The privacy policy has the details.
You confirm that you hold the rights to what you upload, and that it does not show other people who have not agreed to appear in it.
What isn't allowed
- Faking quest completion through spoofed locations, altered sensor data or someone else's photos.
- Scraping the app, rebuilding it, or using its interfaces without an agreement.
- Uploading content that is unlawful, degrades others, or shows people without their consent.
- Selling, lending or sharing an account.
- Circumventing safeguards — including the ones separating Premium from free.
For serious or repeated breaches we may remove content or suspend an account. We tell you first unless the matter cannot wait. If a running subscription is affected, we refund the remainder of the paid period — unless the suspension was for cheating.
Availability and changes
We work to keep RLQuest running, but we do not promise any particular level of availability. There will be maintenance, outages at providers, and problems with your own connection.
The app changes. Features arrive, others go. We do not remove paid features during a running subscription period without replacement — see above.
We may change these terms where there is a proper reason to. We announce material changes at least 30 days ahead, in the app or by email. If you disagree, you can cancel before they take effect.
Liability
We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act.
For ordinary negligence we are liable only where we breach an obligation you must be able to rely on for the contract to work at all — and then only for foreseeable damage typical of this kind of contract. Beyond that, liability is excluded.
None of this changes what is written under Out there: the decision to do a particular quest at a particular time and place is yours.
Ending it
You can leave whenever you like. Settings → Account → Delete account deletes immediately, with no waiting period; the route without the app is under delete your account. Note that this does not cancel a running subscription — you cancel that in the store.
Law and disputes
German law applies. If you are a consumer, the mandatory protections of the country you live in still apply to you.
The EU online dispute resolution platform is at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
