Delete your account and data
You can delete your RLQuest account at any time, on your own — no reason needed, no waiting period, and without having to write to anyone.
In the app
The fastest way, and the only one you need while the app is installed:
Settings → Account → Delete account
Deletion happens immediately. There is no cooling-off period and no recovery window — once it is done, the account is gone.
Without the app
If you have already uninstalled the app, or no longer have access to your device, send us an email:
Please write from the email address the account was created with — otherwise we cannot tell whether the account is yours and will have to ask. We confirm deletion within 30 days, usually much sooner.
What gets deleted
Everything belonging to your account:
- Email address, display name, year of birth, language setting
- Experience points, level, streak, premium status
- Assigned and completed quests, including submissions
- Uncovered tiles, visited places, reached regions
- Achievements, finds, weekly goals, adventures
- Quests you wrote yourself
- Friendships and your invite code
- Subscription entitlements and billing events
Photos are not on this list — not because they stay, but because they were never stored. A photo is passed to the model for verification and discarded afterwards; only the result is kept with the account.
What remains afterwards — and for how long
Two kinds of records are detached from your account rather than removed. They no longer contain any reference to you:
- Usage events (which kind of screen was opened how often): 90 days
- Error reports (error message, platform, app version): 90 days
Independently of the account:
- Quest reports, if you reported a quest: 180 days, so that we can review the content
- Server logs of this website: 14 days
If payments were made through Apple or Google, the corresponding records are held by them and subject to their retention obligations. We have no access to those and cannot delete them.
Deleting data but keeping the account
RLQuest has no account without data: progress, map and quests are the account. Anyone wanting their data deleted therefore deletes the account — by either of the two routes above.
If you want your data first: Settings → Account → Export my data sends you everything as a file.
