Upper Austria's castles cluster around its towns. The Linzer Schloss sits in the center of Linz, with Schloss Auhof (built 1350) 4 km out and Schloss Ebelsberg 5 km from Ansfelden. Steyr has Schloss Lamberg in town and Schloss Rosenegg 3 km away. Wels is the base for Schloss Pollheim (1 km), Schloss Starhemberg (16 km) and the Ruine Stauff (25 km). Further out: Burg Clam, 13 km from Amstetten, and Schloss Mondsee, 24 km from Salzburg.
Of the 170 castles and palaces RLQuest knows in Upper Austria, 146 have a Wikipedia article, about six in seven. Almost every stop comes with background reading. RLQuest doesn't need you to read it; it needs you to get there, and it checks that you did from the track on your phone.

Some of your daily quests lead to a real place near you. The app uses your location to check you were really there.
If you're the first person in RLQuest to complete a quest at a place, it's your first find. The Place Book shows you which kinds of place you're still missing.
Every walk uncovers tiles, each about 350 m across. Over time you can see which corners you know well, and where you've never set foot.
