Thuringia's castles sit close to its towns. Weimar alone has the Stadtschloss in the center and Schloss Belvedere, Schloss Tiefurt and Schloss Kromsdorf within 4 km. Erfurt has two citadels, Zitadelle Petersberg and Zitadelle Cyriaksburg. Schloss Friedenstein is in Gotha, the Wartburg is 2 km from Eisenach, and Burg Gleichen and the Wachsenburg stand 9 and 6 km from Arnstadt. Further afield, the Leuchtenburg is 10 km from Lobeda and Schloss Schwarzburg 12 km from Saalfeld.
This is a well-documented list: of 303 named castles and palaces, 208 have a Wikipedia article, two in three. Thuringia's 54 observation towers and 64 ruins get pages of their own. RLQuest uses places like these as endpoints for its daily quests; your route is the proof, and every approach uncovers a few more tiles of the Thuringian Forest or the Saale valley.

RLQuest knows these places too. Which means:
Some of your daily quests lead to a real place near you. The app uses your location to check you were really there.
If you're the first person in RLQuest to complete a quest at a place, it's your first find. The Place Book shows you which kinds of place you're still missing.
Every walk uncovers tiles, each about 350 m across. Over time you can see which corners you know well, and where you've never set foot.
