Burg Frankenstein, from around 1240, is 3 km from Seeheim-Jugenheim, which also has Burgruine Tannenberg and Schloss Heiligenberg close by. In the Taunus, Burg Kronberg and the Mittelburg are in Kronberg itself and the Römerkastell Saalburg 6 km from Friedrichsdorf. Wiesbaden has the Stadtschloss in the center and Schloss Biebrich 5 km out; Frankfurt the Palais Thurn und Taxis (1731 to 1739).
