Bismarck towers are the recurring theme here. Saxony-Anhalt has them at Quedlinburg (a kilometer from the center), Weißenfels (1907), Burg bei Magdeburg (1907) and Coswig near Wittenberg (1902), and the Bismarckturm Halle 13 km outside the city. Beyond those, the Kaiserturm near Wernigerode stands at 478 meters, the Wilhelm-Raabe-Warte (1896) is 2 km from Blankenburg, and Bitterfeld-Wolfen has two modern ones, the Bitterfelder Bogen and the Pegelturm of 2000.
That is 47 named towers, 17 of them with a Wikipedia article. The state's 267 castles and 109 megalithic tombs have pages of their own, but towers have the advantage of a view at the end. RLQuest knows where each one is; a quest that ends at the top is checked against your recorded walk, and the hills you crossed to get there show up on your map.
Every dot is a place. The numbers mark the highlights listed below.
Ordered by how much has been written about each place. The numbers match the map.

A selection, best known first, with the nearest larger town next to each.
RLQuest knows these places too. Which means:
Some of your daily quests lead to a real place near you. The app uses your location to check you were really there.
If you're the first person in RLQuest to complete a quest at a place, it's your first find. The Place Book shows you which kinds of place you're still missing.
Every walk uncovers tiles, each about 350 m across. Over time you can see which corners you know well, and where you've never set foot.
