Dublin Castle, dated to around 1200, is 1.6 km from the center; Rathfarnham Castle is 4.5 km out, Howth Castle 12.7 km, Malahide Castle 13.6 km and Swords Castle 14.2 km. Along the bay, Poolbeg Lighthouse at 6.6 km and Baily Lighthouse at 13.4 km lead nine lighthouses, and Sandymount Strand at 2.7 km and Dollymount Strand at 7.6 km lead 21 beaches. Powerscourt Waterfall at 20.9 km is just inside the circle.
The Dublin Mountains give the list its odd streak: 11 megaliths, among them the Knockmaree Dolmen at 6.4 km, the Tibradden Chambered Cairn and the Kiltiernan Portal Tomb, plus the Hell Fire Club ruin on Montpelier Hill at 10.5 km. Two Rock Mountain and Djouce are the peaks. Bay one day, mountains the next; the Place Book fills from both sides.
Each hexagon covers a little over 5 square kilometers. The brighter it glows, the more places are inside it. The numbers mark the highlights listed below; the dot in the middle is the center of Dublin.

RLQuest knows these places too. Which means:
Some of your daily quests lead to a real place near you. The app uses your location to check you were really there.
If you're the first person in RLQuest to complete a quest at a place, it's your first find. The Place Book shows you which kinds of place you're still missing.
Every walk uncovers tiles, each about 350 m across. Over time you can see which corners you know well, and where you've never set foot.
