San Francisco's list is forts and lighthouses: 30 forts, many of them coastal batteries around the Golden Gate, Battery Baldwin and Battery Sherwood at 5 km, Fort Winfield Scott at 5.7 km, and Battery Chamberlin (1904) at 5.9 km. The lighthouses match, Alcatraz Island Lighthouse (1909) at 5.7 km, Lime Point at 7.6 km, Point Bonita Lighthouse (1877) in the Marin Headlands. Coit Tower, built 1933, stands 3.3 km from the center.
The hills need no introduction, 74 peaks from Nob Hill to Mount Davidson at 5 km, but the two windmills in Golden Gate Park, the Dutch Windmill (1903) and the Murphy Windmill, and Huntington Falls (1894) nearby are less expected. Bird Island Arch at 11.7 km is the only rock arch. The hills mean every quest here is also a climb.
Each hexagon covers a little over 5 square kilometers. The brighter it glows, the more places are inside it. The numbers mark the highlights listed below; the dot in the middle is the center of San Francisco.

RLQuest knows these places too. Which means:
Some of your daily quests lead to a real place near you. The app uses your location to check you were really there.
If you're the first person in RLQuest to complete a quest at a place, it's your first find. The Place Book shows you which kinds of place you're still missing.
Every walk uncovers tiles, each about 350 m across. Over time you can see which corners you know well, and where you've never set foot.
