The Ruhr's former mining land gives it viewpoints other regions lack: the Tetraeder is 2 km from Bottrop, the Adener Höhe 2 km from Bergkamen. The Rheinturm is a kilometer from the center of Düsseldorf, the Alter Zoll the same from Bonn. Elsewhere the viewpoints are towers and rock outcrops: the Kindelsbergturm (1907) 3 km from Kreuztal, Bierbaums Nagel at 431 m near Warburg, the Korteklippe 6 km from Essen.
RLQuest knows 653 viewpoints in North Rhine-Westphalia, and only 22 have a Wikipedia article. Names like Abendblick Köln, Airport-Terrasse and Alte Skisprungschanze tell you how loosely the word is applied. For RLQuest that is fine: a viewpoint is a point, and the app checks your route reached it rather than asking what you saw. The tiles fill in either way.

RLQuest knows these places too. Which means:
Some of your daily quests lead to a real place near you. The app uses your location to check you were really there.
If you're the first person in RLQuest to complete a quest at a place, it's your first find. The Place Book shows you which kinds of place you're still missing.
Every walk uncovers tiles, each about 350 m across. Over time you can see which corners you know well, and where you've never set foot.
