Three countries fit inside Aachen's 25 km circle, and the list shows it: Burg Frankenberg 1.7 km from the center, Kasteel Amstenrade in the Netherlands at 21.3 km, Fort Aubin Neufchâteau in Belgium at 21.6 km. RLQuest knows 92 castles here, with Burg Stolberg at 10.6 km and Schloß Thor at 10.2 km among the closer ones, and 80 watermills, several of them, like the Gebrannte Mühle, within 3 km.
The Vaalserberg, 5.1 km out, is where the three borders meet, and the 22 caves cluster around 18 km out, the Sint-Jansboschgroeve series among them. Forty-two bunkers and the Wilhelminatoren lookout (2011) round it off. Three countries, one Place Book.
Each hexagon covers a little over 5 square kilometers. The brighter it glows, the more places are inside it. The numbers mark the highlights listed below; the dot in the middle is the center of Aachen.

RLQuest knows these places too. Which means:
Some of your daily quests lead to a real place near you. The app uses your location to check you were really there.
If you're the first person in RLQuest to complete a quest at a place, it's your first find. The Place Book shows you which kinds of place you're still missing.
Every walk uncovers tiles, each about 350 m across. Over time you can see which corners you know well, and where you've never set foot.
