The hills around Forchheim hold the densest patch: the Binghöhle (15 km), Schönsteinhöhle, Esperhöhle and the Riesenburg, mostly 15 to 20 km out, the Oswaldhöhle among them at 18 km. Erlangen has the Neischl-Grotte (1906) a kilometer from town. In the Alps, the Schellenberger Eishöhle sits at 1570 m, 10 km from Bad Reichenhall, the Sturmannshöhle 10 km from Sonthofen and the Frickenhöhle 5 km from Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
RLQuest knows 536 caves in Bavaria, and only 36 of them have a Wikipedia article. A few are show caves; the rest are the sort of hole you find because the map says so. A cave entrance is a precise quest target, and RLQuest reads your route to it before it marks the tiles as yours.

RLQuest knows these places too. Which means:
Some of your daily quests lead to a real place near you. The app uses your location to check you were really there.
If you're the first person in RLQuest to complete a quest at a place, it's your first find. The Place Book shows you which kinds of place you're still missing.
Every walk uncovers tiles, each about 350 m across. Over time you can see which corners you know well, and where you've never set foot.
