Most of Scotland's lights are a long way from anywhere. Muckle Flugga Lighthouse, Esha Ness Lighthouse and Sumburgh Head Lighthouse are on Shetland, Cape Wrath and Dunnet Head Lighthouse mark the far north of the mainland. The ones with a town nearby: Girdle Ness Lighthouse 3 km from Aberdeen, Covesea Skerries Lighthouse 8 km from Elgin, Inchkeith Lighthouse in the Forth off Kirkcaldy, and the Bass Rock Lighthouse off the coast past Musselburgh.
The Scottish list runs to 159 named lighthouses RLQuest knows, 38 of them with a Wikipedia article, some under Gaelic names like Taigh-solais Eilean Glas. Scotland also has 480 castles and 285 standing stones with pages here. A lighthouse quest in the app is checked the same way everywhere: the recorded route has to reach the light, and the headland you crossed becomes part of your map.
Every dot is a place. The numbers mark the highlights listed below.

RLQuest knows these places too. Which means:
Some of your daily quests lead to a real place near you. The app uses your location to check you were really there.
If you're the first person in RLQuest to complete a quest at a place, it's your first find. The Place Book shows you which kinds of place you're still missing.
Every walk uncovers tiles, each about 350 m across. Over time you can see which corners you know well, and where you've never set foot.
