Freiburg's 25 km circle reaches the Black Forest's big summits: the Feldberg at 17.7 km with the Feldbergturm at 1448 meters, the Schauinsland at 10 km, the Belchen at 19.3 km. RLQuest knows 208 peaks here and 28 waterfalls, the Todtnauer Wasserfall at 18.1 km and the Suggentaler Wasserfall among them. In town, the Martinstor and Schwabentor are within 0.4 km of the center, and the Schlossbergturm (2002) stands at 463 meters just 0.7 km out.
Castles get overlooked with mountains like these, but the Burgruine Schneeburg at 5.6 km, the Zähringer Burg at 4 km and the Hochburg at 13.9 km are the ones to seek out. Toward the Kaiserstuhl, the Eichelspitzturm and the Kaiserstuhlblick - Totenkopf are the viewpoints to aim for. A few of these turn up as RLQuest quests each morning.
Each hexagon covers a little over 5 square kilometers. The brighter it glows, the more places are inside it. The numbers mark the highlights listed below; the dot in the middle is the center of Freiburg.

RLQuest knows these places too. Which means:
Some of your daily quests lead to a real place near you. The app uses your location to check you were really there.
If you're the first person in RLQuest to complete a quest at a place, it's your first find. The Place Book shows you which kinds of place you're still missing.
Every walk uncovers tiles, each about 350 m across. Over time you can see which corners you know well, and where you've never set foot.
