The Solent is the center of gravity. Gosport alone has Fort Brockhurst, Fort Rowner, Fort Gomer and Fort Grange within 3 km, Horse Sand Fort is 6 km out from Portsmouth, and St Helens Fort and Bembridge Fort are on the Isle of Wight. The Thames estuary has Tilbury Fort and Coalhouse Fort near Gravesend; Harwich has Landguard Fort and Beacon Hill Fort. Up north, Castra Vindolanda and Vercovicium are Roman.
RLQuest knows 91 named forts in England, 34 of them with a Wikipedia article. Castles (511) and ruins (783) have their own pages, since a fort here means purpose-built defenses rather than a lord's residence. Many are on the coast, so a quest to one doubles as a sea walk; the app logs the route, confirms the arrival and fills in the shoreline tiles behind you.

RLQuest knows these places too. Which means:
Some of your daily quests lead to a real place near you. The app uses your location to check you were really there.
If you're the first person in RLQuest to complete a quest at a place, it's your first find. The Place Book shows you which kinds of place you're still missing.
Every walk uncovers tiles, each about 350 m across. Over time you can see which corners you know well, and where you've never set foot.
