A short list with range. At one end are the ArcelorMittal Orbit (2012) at Stratford, the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth and Blackpool Tower; at the other, eighteenth-century towers like King Alfred's Tower (1769 to 1770), 13 km from Frome, and Broadway Tower (1798 to 1799) near Evesham. Bath has Beckford's Tower and the Belvedere Tower, Halifax has the Wainhouse Tower 2 km out, and Clavell Tower is 16 km from Poole.
RLQuest knows just 24 named observation towers in England, but 19 of them have a Wikipedia article. For sheer numbers, the viewpoints page (690) is where the views are. A tower is still the better quest: it is one spot, not a hillside, and the app can confirm from your route that you reached it.
Every dot is a place. The numbers mark the highlights listed below.
Ordered by how much has been written about each place. The numbers match the map.

A selection, best known first, with the nearest larger town next to each.
RLQuest knows these places too. Which means:
Some of your daily quests lead to a real place near you. The app uses your location to check you were really there.
If you're the first person in RLQuest to complete a quest at a place, it's your first find. The Place Book shows you which kinds of place you're still missing.
Every walk uncovers tiles, each about 350 m across. Over time you can see which corners you know well, and where you've never set foot.
